David H. Colby, J.D.

Originally from Southern California, David moved to Arizona in 1979.

David received his J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law in 1979. He has been actively practicing in the greater Phoenix area for approximately 25 years, with the last 15 years emphasizing estate planning, business succession planning, and general business planning.

At the law office of Colby & Thornes, David drafts and supervises the creation of revocable living trusts and related documents, irrevocable trust and other business succession and estate planning documents.

David specializes in strategies to meet clients’ long term planning goals.

He resides in Scottsdale with his wife and two young children.

Megan A. Thornes, J.D.

Megan is a graduate of The University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and received her J.D. from the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law.

Megan’s practice concentrates on all of the various issues surrounding estate planning and taxation. 

At Colby & Thornes, PLLC, Megan drafts and supervises revocable and irrevocable trusts and related documents, limited liability companies, contracts and corporate documents.  She develops and implements strategies designed to facilitate the lifetime and testamentary objectives of her clients with special emphasis on tax and liability protection.

Megan lives with her husband, Brian, and two dogs, Harley and Rocky, in Phoenix.
